Celtic have been calm and collected behind the scenes in recent times as our supporters have been losing our mind over who will be the next manager.

Eddie Howe has been tipped to become the permanent successor to Neil Lennon shortly.

SunSport reports the former Bournemouth manager is crafting his backroom team and getting his ducks in a row to become the next Hoops gaffer.

Celtic’s rebuild is no joke and real money has to be spent. The club knows that and Dermot Desmond knows that.

That’s why the same report claims Celtic are handing Eddie Howe a massive salary to lure him to Parkhead.

The figure being touted is £2m per year. That would put Eddie at nearly the same pay grade as Brendan Rodgers when he came into the club.

Back at the time, RecordSport revealed Rodgers was on £2.3m per year. This would have likely gone up after he signed his new deal a year later.

I think people might be getting numb to Eddie Howe’s name being mentioned without official word coming through.

Make no bones about it, if Eddie is announced as Celtic manager in the coming days/weeks, it’s a major coup for the club.

Many believed Celtic couldn’t land Eddie who was earmarked for a Premier League role.
