Jota’s departure from Celtic was made official last night and now, speculation surrounding his Hoops teammate Liel Abada has begun to surface.
The Israeli international put up some respectable numbers in 2022/23, bagging 13 goals and nine assists in 47 appearances.
Now, these performances and potential have drawn the interested of a few top sides.
According to Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas on Twitter, Sporting Portugal are interested in Abada.
It is said the club will consider the 21 year old if they lose English attacker Marcus Edwards this window.
Nevertheless, Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax remain ‘very interested’ in Abada so he is in no way short of any potential suitors.

With the departure of Jota for a wealthy fee, Celtic are already in a comfortable position with the money they have to spend this summer.
Although no fee is mentioned regarding Abada, one assumes his sale would only add to Brendan Rodgers’ transfer kitty.
His loss would be significant but not irreplaceable and the club have even added another winger to their ranks this summer in Marco Tilio who, at least in terms of age and position, is rather similar to Abada.
