Celtic’s weekend league opponents Dundee have been hit with some unwanted rumours of sides targetting current boss James McPake.
As reported by the Courier, McPake is a target for English League One side MK Dons as they look to fill their recent empty vacancy as soon as possible.
The young managers stock has recently been rising after guiding Dundee back to the Scottish Premiership via the playoffs, defeating Kilmarnock.
This will likely be unwelcome news for McPake’s squad and the Dundee fans as they prepare for a tough trip away to Celtic Park for the Hoops home league opener, which will see Ange Postecoglou welcome back 25,000 Celtic fans.
These sorts of rumours are never ideal when it comes to preparation and uncertainty ahead of any fixture. But even more so with the season just kicking off last week.
New Celtic boss, Postecoglou, won’t be focussing on that, though, as his side looks to put the first three points on the board of this season.
