Duncan Ferguson, the newly appointed manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, is already in discussions with Brendan Rodgers about acquiring Celtic loan players to bolster his struggling team.
Inverness is currently at the bottom of the Championship, and Ferguson is keen to turn their fortunes around swiftly.
Championship, League 1, and League 2 clubs have the opportunity to sign loan players in September and February.
“We can acquire players from the Scottish Prem, can’t we?” he remarked to SunSport. “We can get some boys that are out of contract. I’ve already reached out to a couple of the Scottish managers. I spoke to Brendan this morning, so he’s going to help me out, hopefully.”
Based on Ferguson’s remarks, it seems plausible that a Celtic player could be loaned to Inverness. Young Daniel Kelly is a potential candidate.
His inclusion in the photograph suggests he’s viewed as a first-team player at the club, but there doesn’t seem like there will be many minutes for him in the near future.
A loan move to Inverness could be beneficial for the 17-year-old midfielder, allowing him to experience first-team football and make the significant step up from the Lowland League.
Celtic might also consider loaning fringe players like Yuki Kobayashi or Kwon, who are currently not getting opportunities at Celtic, to gain experience in a tough and physical league.
