Dorus de Vries Set for Parkhead Exit – reports

It may be academic at this point but It has been reported that one of Brendan Rodgers first signings for the club has been told the game is over for him at Celtic Park.

Dorus de Vries was brought in from Nottingham Forest to be the ball playing goalkeeper who would replace Craig Gordon under Brendan Rodgers. However, a string of erratic performances culminating in a Kilmarnock goal from 35 yards out meant the goalkeeper was consigned to the shadows.

While the player might be valuable to have behind the scenes with the experience he brings to the table, his on-field Celtic career has been poor.

With his contract up at the end of the season, Dorus has been told he can move on according to reports and he will not be kept around after the summer.

The crazy thing about this deal is the player looked to have blown his chance at Celtic in his first season but Brendan Rodgers saw fit to give Dorus a contract extension.

The clear out in the summer is going to see many fringe players leave the club and free up money and space for some new blood.
