Despite unthinkable links to English champions Manchester City, it now looks like Kyogo Furuhashi will be staying at Celtic beyond the summer.
The Japanese frontman was reportedly viewed as a backup to Erling Haaland, but City boss Pep Guardiola has this afternoon stated he doesn’t expect his club to make any more new signings in the current transfer window.
“I don’t think so”, he said when asked if City will make any more summer acquisitions (CityXtra on X).
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, maybe something happens in terms of injuries – hopefully not – or the market provides something unexpected that financially suits, or tactically.
“Right now I don’t think so.”

Things could change depending on certain factors, but it doesn’t seem likely that the Premier League giants will be making any moves.
This news comes as a huge positive for Brendan Rodgers and Celtic.
With Matt O’Riley heavily linked to Brighton, the thought of losing both the Dane and Kyogo this summer was unfathomable.
Now, though, it looks like the star striker, who happily trained this morning at Lennxtown, will be staying in Glasgow for 2024/25.
He will compete with Adam Idah for a starting spot up front in the Celtic team throughout the new campaign as Brendan Rodgers looks to maintain domestic dominance and make a mark in Europe.
