Vasilis Barkas has today put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Celtic and is most likely to become the club’s number one in the coming weeks and months.
After Fraser Forster decided he wasn’t coming back to the club on loan, Celtic had been weighing up their options. It became clear in the past 10 days, Barkas was the main target after speculation surrounding Joe Hart subsided.
The goalkeeper comes in from AEK Athens with a great record and a chance to be a hero in Celtic’s ten in a row season.
Fraser was a colossal player in goals for Celtic last term so the player has big gloves to fill.
It will be interesting to see how quickly Neil Lennon puts Barkas into the squad. Could he be tempted to start the goalkeeper as early as Sunday?

Or will Scott Bain get his chance and first run at being the number one for the ten in a row season?
