DEFENDER Saidy Janko has left Celtic on a permanent basis to join French side AS Saint-Etienne after failing to make an impact during his time at Celtic.

The defender who spent last season on-loan at Barnsley has signed a deal till 2021 with the French outfit and is excited about his new star.
“I am very happy to be here. AS Saint-Etienne is one of the biggest French clubs with a beautiful history and fantastic supporters. Yesterday I visited the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium with Ilan. It is a very impressive stadium that resembles the Celtic Park! Ligue 1 is a championship that develops and attracts more and more foreign players. I want to save playing time in one of the best championships. Joining a club of this magnitude is a great opportunity for me”
The Swiss defender was surplus to requirements at Celtic and Rodgers was keen to move him on to free up space in his squad.
We wish him all the best.
