Done Deal: Celtic Sign Callum Osmand; Contract Details and Reaction

Celtic have officially confirmed the signing of 19-year-old striker Callum Osmand from Fulham, with the deal subject to international clearance.

The highly-rated forward has signed a four-year contract at Parkhead, becoming the latest addition in a busy summer for the Scottish champions. CeltsAreHere broke the news of Osmand’s impending arrival back on June 9th, with the club now making the move official.

Osmand joins a growing list of new arrivals at Paradise, following the high-profile return of Kieran Tierney, the signing of Swedish winger Benjamin Nygren, and goalkeeper Ross Doohan.

Brendan Rodgers is clearly pleased with the club’s latest capture, praising the teenager’s attributes and attitude.

“We are really pleased to bring Callum to Celtic,” said the manager. “He is a highly-rated, talented young player. He has some real attributes. He’s a quick and powerful striker and I’m really looking forward to working with him. I’m sure he can be really successful with us.”

Speaking to Celtic TV, Osmand couldn’t hide his excitement about the move.

“It feels unbelievable to be here and I am so happy to be here. It is a big step for me, and I am excited to get going,” he said. “It’s a massive move and I can’t wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans.”

Osmand also revealed he had spoken to Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley before making the switch, who offered glowing insight into the club and its supporters.

“He was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are and it’s a new life really. So excited is definitely the word for me.”

With Celtic looking to build on their double-winning campaign, Osmand’s addition is another sign of intent. The club are blending immediate quality with long-term potential, and this latest signing ticks both boxes.
