Done Deal – Celtic Immediately Announce Ajer Replacement

CARL STARFELT has officially become a Celtic player this Wednesday evening subject to international clearance. [Celtic Website]

The Swedish defender is joining Celtic on a four-year deal from Rubin Kazan and is the direct replacement for Kristoffer Ajer who has tonight left the club to join English side Brentford.

Starfelt will join up with the bhoys shortly, but before he can he must adhere to the rules entering the country and must quarantine upon arrival.

The defender will likely come straight into the side when he becomes available for selection. Celtic are short at centre-back and they still have a good few signings to be getting on with to really shape the back line in the coming weeks.

Carl, 26, will want to hit the ground running and will likely cut his teeth in the SPFL over the coming weeks.

Celtic get set to kick off their new SPFL campaign on July 31 against Hearts away. That looks to be too soon for the defender but the Dundee game a week later at Celtic park could see the Swede debut.
