Done Deal: Celtic Confirm Loan Move

Aberdeen and Celtic have confirmed this evening Adam Montgomery has signed for the Dons until the end of the season.

It’s another loan deal out the door for Celtic, but vitally, there’s no option to buy at the end of the loan move.

Osaze Urhoghide went out on loan to Oostende earlier on deadline day and the Belgian club have an option to buy the former Sheffield Wednesday man this summer – much to the surprise of the Celtic support.

Adam looked to be heading to Kilmarnock but the deal fell through in the end and Aberdeen pounced.

Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass told the Aberdeen website: “We’re pleased Adam has opted to join us at Pittodrie for the rest of the season.

“His arrival will provide some added flexibility to the squad as he can play in a number of positions.

“He is a player with great potential and someone who we feel will add value to the squad for the second half of the campaign.

“The Club has previously enjoyed success with the loan of Ryan Christie from Celtic and we’re confident this move will be as successful.”

Adam has made 18 appearances for Celtic this season. The defender had to play out of necessity at times because we were so low on players.

The bhoy looks like a good talent and it’s great he goes to a club where he will be able to get game time in the SPFL.

Celtic are pushing towards a title challenge after the weekend results and strengthening Aberdeen could help of Adam does the business against our rivals.
