Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph set fans buzzing over Celtic’s potential pursuit of Croatian goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic on Friday night.
The reporter claimed Celtic were interested in the World Cup goalie and could look to sign him under Brendan Rodgers.
However, Anthony’s Saturday morning report isn’t so promising. He claims Fenerbahce are the front runners to sign the talented goalkeeper, having put in a bid on Friday evening.
Dominik Livakovic would be an outstanding signing for Celtic if they could somehow usurp other clubs interested in him. A goalkeeper who has so much experience but still has plenty of time left in his career.
Joe Hart is Celtic’s number one at the moment, but things could change very quickly if Celtic pay decent money for a keeper.
The last shot stopper the hoops pair big money for was Vasilis Barkas, and we all know how that ended. There will be trepidation over paying big money for any goalkeeper having been burned by the Barkas deal. However, Rodgers has the field and if he wants the player, Celtic will do their best to bring them in.
