CELTIC have announced the prices for Wednesday’s Europa League playoff tie against AZ Alkmaar and we’re delighted the club have chosen to freeze prices from the Jablonec came but also adding the extra incentive of under 13s going for just £1.
The club were heavily criticised for charging the fans on the first game back after an 18 month absence due to the pandemic. The support had propped up the club with major money while the doors were closed and many felt the one time gesture of free entry for the Europa tie on Thursday would have been a fitting way to welcome the fans back.
As it happened, Celtic charged the fans to get back in and of course we responded again with a sell out crowd.
It would have been easy for the club to hike the price of the Alkmaar game to around £25-£29 because it’s a playoff tie. Instead, they have kept the price at £19 for Adult season ticket holders, £13 for concessions and just £1 for under 13s.
AZ Alkmaar ticket pricing is very fair:
£19 Adults
£12 Concessions
£1 Under 13sCredit, where credit is due @CelticFC

Perhaps the board and more importantly Dom McKay was listening. The PR man was the subject of a Green brigade banner on Thursday evening – the group highlighting the absurdity of being charged after the long absence from the stadium.

Celtic will take on the Dutch side over two legs. The first game will be at Celtic Park on Wednesday 19:45KO. The away leg kick off time is still to be confirmed.
