We reported earlier today former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers home had been broken into in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
When it was first reported, it was assumed the premises was empty with the manager being in Leicester and his family presumed to be with him.
However, it has emerged Brendan’s wife and stepdaughter were in the house when the incident took place and the pair had to barricade themselves in the bathroom while the intruders ransacked the house.
This would have been an upsetting and harrowing episode for the Rodgers family and it seems opportunistic thieves have perhaps been anticipating free reign in the house.
The alarm was raised and the police attended the scene but the robbers got away with a lot of items including some of Brendan’s Celtic medals.
Rodgers must be living out of a hotel at the moment and only taking his family down south once they have sorted out a permanent residence.
