‘Disappoints me’, ‘Deserves respect’: International Boss Delivers Celtic Verdict

Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough has come out in support of Celtic manager Neil Lennon after the things he’s had to endure this season.

Baraclough believes the Celtic manager deserves respect but there’s been little on show for him this season.

Neil Lennon and his Celtic team were hurtling towards the abyss, game after game until a shock win against Lille last Thursday sparked something in the players, with the manager giving game time to those who he previously ignored.

Speaking to SunSport, the International boss backed the manager.

“I obviously follow what’s going on in Scottish football and it disappoints me to see some of the things Neil’s had to endure.

“I don’t think he’s been given the respect he deserves, given what he’s done over his two periods in charge of Celtic. It’s his first real blip, from what I can remember, and the club have been tremendous with their backing for him.

“Neil’s a fighter and I respect him for that.”

There has been over the top stuff about Neil Lennon but there’s also been warranted criticism, the team took such a nose dive and he kept relying on the same nucleus to bail him out. In the end, it’s taken a dead rubber against Lille for the likes of Soro and Turnbull to get their chance, we hope now they’re in the side they can help contribute to a less predictable Celtic team on the field.

It’s all still to play for but we must be at our best.
