Celtic’s Daizen Maeda was certainly busy against St Mirren, with two penalty claims going against the Japanese forward.
With Alex Gogic’s leg tangling between Maeda’s legs, Sky Sports‘ Kris Boyd commented, “I think this one could be… I think you can see that Gogic just gets his legs tangled in between Maeda.” To which, Stylian Petrov replied, “It could be, or it is.”
James McFadden also chimed in, saying, “Yes, for me, it’s a penalty on the first one.”

Maeda also went down again in the first half, this time with Shaun Rooney involved with the Celtic winger.
However, the Sky Sports studio was not as receptive to the idea of the second incident being a penalty.
Boyd said, “This one, no, I don’t think it is. I’m not quite sure that Rooney even touches Maeda,” with McFadden adding, “Not for me on the second one.”
Petrov, on the other hand, was of the belief that both incidents were penalties, stating, “I think both of them are. I think when you lunge with that type of tackle, it is a penalty for me.”
Both incidents certainly sparked discussion within the studio and are likely to have done the same among Celtic supporters.
Callum McGregor also added to the penalty claims in the second half, as the Celtic skipper attempted a quick one-two with Paulo Bernardo in the St Mirren box in the 57th minute.
McGregor was blocked off by substitute Roland Idowu, with former Celtic striker Chris Sutton commenting, “I think Callum McGregor actually ran into Roland Idowu.”
