Billy Gilmour is OUT of Scotland’s final group tie against Croatia on Tuesday evening after testing positive for the virus, days after starring in the 0-0 draw against England at Wembley.
Steve Clarke was bold and played the Chelsea midfielder, handing him his full debut against the Auld enemy and Gilmour responded. Billy would have certainly started the game on Tuesday had this not happened. We wish him a speedy recovery!
Alex Crook makes an interesting point about Scotland’s choice of training base and it appears to have had the desired effect.
And this is one of the reasons #SCO decided to base themselves in Middlesbrough. If they were based in Scotland the whole squad would have to isolate following Billy Gilmour's positive test.

Now Billy is out of the tie, could there be room for a Celtic player to slot into a midfield role?
David Turnbull has sat on the bench for the past two games, would Clarke be bold enough to bring the Celtic midfielder into the fold just days after giving youth a chance and it paying off?
Turnbull was Celtic’s player of the season, and for good reason. The former Motherwell star broke into the Celtic side and looked right at home, outperforming many of the treble winning stars of previous years.
Will Clarke now revert to type and play it safe or will he roll the dice with Turnbull.
