Celtic’s interest in Tiago Araujo seems to have simmered down according to Football Scotland. Previously, there was a buzz when the Hoops initially reached out to check on Araujo, a 22-year-old full-back from Estoril.

Back in November, the Scottish champions were inquiring about the conditions and price for this versatile left-sider. However, it turns out that was the last time they made any sort of approach for him.

Araujo, who moved to Estoril from Benfica over a year and a half ago, really made a mark last season. His performances caught the eye of Celtic, especially considering they’ve had quite a successful run with players from the Portuguese market recently.

Brendan Rodgers, on the lookout for a left-back to give Greg Taylor a run for his money, doesn’t seem to be counting on Alexandro Bernabei to step up to that first-team spot.
