Matt O’Riley’s exceptional season at Celtic, where he scored 19 goals and provided 18 assists, has not only earned him Celtic’s Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards but has also ignited substantial interest from top clubs across Europe.

Because of his performances on the pitch, which also includes a Champions League Man of the Match display, Parkhead insiders reportedly fear that retaining him might be a challenge next season.
O’Riley, who recently extended his contract with Celtic last September, is on the radar of several prestigious clubs. Atletico Madrid had already made a bid for him in January, and their interest remains strong. Inter Milan and several English Premier League clubs are also keen on the Danish midfielder.
These developments come amid revelations from Morten Wieghorst, the assistant manager of the Danish national team, who surprisingly left O’Riley out of the provisional squad for the Euros.
Wieghorst acknowledged O’Riley’s impressive performance, stating [RecordSport], “Huge respect for what Matt has delivered this season. They (Celtic) are very, very happy for him, I would like to say. They are not sure they can keep him with the season he just had.”
