Denmark Fans Fume At Matt O’Riley Euros Exclusion

In a surprising transpiration, Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley has been left out of Denmark’s squad for the upcoming European Championships in Germany.

Despite registering 37 goal contributions in all competitions for the Hoops this season, the attack-minded midfielder has been snubbed by international boss Kasper Hjulmand.

Such a decision has left many Danes incensed, with several supporters taking to social media to let their opinions be known.

Indeed, on the post on the official X page of the Denmark national team which revealed Hjulmand’s 26-man Euros squad, many fans commented.

One outlined his opinion that the manager should be sacked for not including the country’s ‘most in-form’ player while another labelled the exclusion of O’Riley as ‘insane’.

More supporters criticised the shock decision, one stating that not having the Celtic man in the team after his outstanding campaign in Glasgow is a ‘joke’.

It is difficult to argue with the Denmark faithful’s assessment of the O’Riley predicament. He seems destined for huge things within the game, and links to Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid only prove that.

Despite this and his phenomenal Hoops form, the 23-year-old will have no international commitments this summer as he looks to bounce back from his snub when the new campaign begins.
