Here is the current state of play with regards to Moussa Dembele.

The manager has confirmed the talks have been going on around his future.

Brendan Rodgers did not shy away from questions about the Frenchman but did insist Celtic will not sell if there’s no replacement.

The manager also confirmed there was one club in particular who are interested in Moussa.

The club in question is Lyon after their President told the media they were currently in negotiations with Celtic over landing the striker but said it may or may not happen as Celtic are ‘tough negotiators’.

We know the player is interested in leaving for the right deal.

The rumours which have been flying around social media since Rodgers admission are as follows.

Depending on who you listen to we have two completely different stories

• Celtic have agreed a £22.5million deal to sell Dembele to Lyon.
• The player will more than double his wages.

The other report insists:

• Celtic have rejected two bid from Lyon.
• Celtic have offered Moussa a new deal but will let him go if he doesn’t sign it and they can get a replacement in.

Basically, everyone is playing a guessing game. What we do know for sure is the stuff we confirmed at the top – the rest is just speculation.
