It has been a wacky week in the world of Celtic social media.
With the club crying out for a centre back of real substance, reports online from various outlets have given some hope Celtic are prepared to do another bit of big business before the transfer window closes.
The name that has got a lot of Celtic fans excited is Jeffrey Bruma.
The 26-year-old has a large amount of experience. Playing 94 games in Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven before his big money move to Wolfsburg in 2016 where the defender has played 71 Bundesliga games to date. Add to that his fleeting appearances in the Premier League as well as 10 appearances in the Champions League – he’s a highly desireable defender.
However, if Celtic are interested, they’re playing hard to get because Jeffrey himself felt compelled to comment on the rumours linking him with a move to Glasgow.
“I have read about Celtic’s interest in me but nobody has spoken about it, either with me or with my agent,” the defender told The Sun.
“I am under contract with Wolfsburg, and I don’t want to talk a lot about my future.”
Celtic have been busy over the past 24-hours, hoping to land a deal for Aberdeen’s Scott McKenna – after their initial bid has been thrown out the club either have to up their bid or move on. Will they contact Jeffrey and Wolfsburg before the deadline?
