Defender Set to Miss Hibs Fixture

Celtic defender Shane Duffy is reportedly set to miss tomorrow nights fixture at Celtic Park against Hibernian.

According to the Irish Mirror, Duffy who left the Dubai training camp early to head home due to personal issues will miss the game against the Edinburgh side tomorrow for the same reasons.

This season has been a tough one for Duffy in particular. The Irish captain came in with massive expectations as Neil Lennon looked to shore up his defence but he hasn’t lived up to expectations and faced heavy criticism for his performances.

Lennon now finds himself short on central defensive options. Kristoffer Ajer being the one mainstay in the side left due to the absence of Nir Bitton through suspension and Christopher Jullien with an injury. Leaving either Welsh or Elhamed to start tomorrow night.

Even at that, it is still unconfirmed who the positive Covid test is within the squad. If it was to come out that one of the few defensive options left remaining for Celtic was that player, we could find ourselves facing even more problems.
