Defender On the Way – Brendan Wants Deal Done Before January

BRENDAN RODGERS is going full tilt as he tries to improve his squad for the second half of the season.

The Irishman has had his scouting pool search far and wide for suitable candidates who fit into what he’s trying to do.

Last week we reported Celtic were high on 32-year-old defender German defender Marvin Compper.

However, this was somewhat cooled when Leipzig Chairman told the press that Marvin was not for sale.

This is said not to be the case, and Compper didn’t even make the latest Leipzig squad when they took on Wolfsburg.

Rodgers has been encouraged to pursue the defender and believes he can the German for under £1million. The Celtic manager has made it clear to the board that he wants his business done as early as possible so he can integrate the players into his squad during the winter break.
