Dedryck Boyata Speaks On Celtic Future After Summer Window Saga

DEDRYCK BOYATA has told Sky Sports he is not allowed to talk about what went on at the start of the season at Celtic.

The defender is on international duty with Belgium and was asked for his take on the circumstances surrounding his Celtic future when it looked like he was pushing for a move out of Celtic Park.

During that time, Boyata’s agent caused disruption at Lennoxtown and the defender declared himself unfit to play in Celtic’s Chanpions League qualifiers.

This lead to the Green Brigade making a banner that stated Boyata was not ‘fit’ to wear the jersey when he started his first game since the saga.

The defender would go onto score the winner in that game and have his teammates rally around him.

Since then Boyata has been Celtic’s most consistent defender. The only black mark against his name is getting sent off for petulance shown towards an official.

When asked about the situation at the start of the season Boyata said.

”I’m not supposed to talk right now about what happened in the past”

”I’m fully committed to the team, I’m very happy to be a Celtic player.

With his future he was more vague and simply put it “Whatever happens next, happens next”

”Right now I’m focussed on Celtic and hopefully we can get back to where we’re supposed to be”
