‘Deals we want to do’ – Brendan Rodgers Outlines Celtic’s January Plans

Brendan Rodgers has outlined Celtic’s plans for the January transfer window, admitting there are several deals that the club wants to do.

It comes off the back of his side’s emphatic 3-0 win over St. Mirren this afternoon, in which the Hoops went 13 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Nicolas Kuhn opened the scoring 33 minutes in before Auston Trusty netted his first Celtic goal to make it 2-0 just before the break.

Kuhn added a third in the second half, wrapping up a comfortable day at the office for the Bhoys.

Rodgers’ comments after the match have more than captured the headlines. The manager called out the Celtic fans twice: first, for their supposed frustration at the team’s lack of attacking intent, and second, for their chants about Kieran Tierney and how they disrespect Greg Taylor.

After today’s game, Rodgers was also asked about Celtic’s plans for the January transfer window. He has previously stated his desire to add attacking prowess to his ranks, and today, he outlined how there is business the club wants to carry out.

He said [BBC]: “We know what it is we want to do.

“I’m 100% comfortable that the club will do everything in order to support that.

“It’s important to have that freshness going into the second part of the season.

“We have deals we want to do; hopefully, between now and the end of January, we can do that.”

The window opened earlier this week, and it runs until Monday, February 3. There is a wealth of time for Rodgers and Co. to do business.
