Deal Agreed: Kasper Dolberg Closing in on Celtic Move

Celtic are closing in on their most significant signing of the summer with a deal agreed for Danish striker Kasper Dolberg.

The 27-year-old Denmark international is set to join the Hoops in an £8 million move from Anderlecht, with only final details and paperwork left to be completed before the deal becomes official. [Bold]

He will soon sign a 4-year deal at the Hoops.

Dolberg has long been admired across Europe, having starred for Ajax in the Champions League and enjoyed spells at Nice and Sevilla before joining Anderlecht. His arrival at Celtic would mark a major boost to Brendan Rodgers’ attacking options and offer a long-overdue replacement for Kyogo Furuhashi, who departed the club in January.

Kasper Dolberg at a glance.

  • Full Name: Kasper Dolberg Rasmussen

  • Date of Birth: 6 October 1997

  • Height: ~1.87 m (6’1½”)

  • Position: Centre‑forward (primarily)

  • Current Club: RSC Anderlecht (Belgian Pro League), since July 2023 under contract until June 2027
  • Named Belgian Player of the Month in November 2024 after scoring 12 goals in six domestic matches, including two hat-tricks

  • Scored four goals in a single match against Gent during the 2025 playoff phase

Celtic’s struggles in front of goal this season have been well-documented. With Adam Idah failing to build on his promising loan spell and no clear standout No. 9, the need for a proven finisher became urgent. Dolberg, with his blend of experience, physical presence, and composure in front of goal, fits the bill.

The move also opens the door for Adam Idah to leave, with Swansea City pushing to sign him before the window closes on Monday. Rodgers made it clear that no striker would leave until a replacement was secured, and Dolberg’s imminent arrival ticks that box.

If all goes to plan, Dolberg could be unveiled in the coming days.
