Deadline Day Rush: Celtic Left Back Options Takes Fresh Blow

Today, it has already been reported that we have missed out on two left-back targets with Ryan Sessegnon moving on loan to Hoffenheim and Casper Hojer staying put at AGF in Norway. Tonight, it now looks as though we have missed out on yet another left-back target.

This time, Leeds United left-back, Barry Douglas. According to Sun Sport, the Scottish defender is set for a move to English Championship side, Watford.

So far, Douglas has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League for the Elland Road side and it now appears that he is looking to get more regular first-team football elsewhere at Vicarage Road.

The 31-year old who has had a spell in Scotland with Dundee United was one of the first names linked to replace Boli Bolingoli after the incident which saw the Belgian lose the trust of manager Neil Lennon, therefore seeing him depart the club.

With just a few days to go before the window slams shut, this will be another frustrating one for Lennon and his backroom staff, to miss out on yet another target. It is clear that the Northern Irishman wants someone in before Monday nights deadline and hopefully, we are able to get a deal over the line before then.
