BT Presenter Darrell Currie has called on the Scottish football authorities to do the right thing by supporters after they refused to cancel this weekend’s fixture list or put it behind closed doors.
With countries all around Europe and beyond taking social distancing measures, our country has decided to not adhere to the advice and do the right thing.
English football was the same but overnight, players and managers being diagnosed with the virus make the card going ahead as planned a non-starter.
With the illness set to grip the country, we should be making sure these mass gatherings aren’t happening for the good of our health.
Money is a great motivator and we can’t imagine the financial aspect hasn’t been heavily seized upon to justify Scottish footballs current stance.
Darrell Currie wants to see the SFA step up and not go ahead with the weekend’s football as normal. The Glasgow Derby clearly on his mind for Sunday too.
Games are being postponed left right and centre, national associations making big calls all over Europe, health comes first… and yet we’re going to carry on regardless tonight?!
What is it going to take??
Time to step up Scottish football and look after the fans and players.— Darrell Currie (@darrellcurrietv) March 13, 2020
Don’t hold your breath.
