DANNY SIMPSON acknowledged a sarcastic Celtic fan on social media after the player’s reported trial with the club was called off.

The player was expected at Lennoxtown this week to begin a few days training with the bhoys but Neil Lennon confirmed he cancelled the trial as he edged closer to more than on player in Danny’s natural right back position.

A Celtic fan posted a sarcastic message to Simpson after the news he wouldn’t be coming to Celtic, declaring the player would be ‘forever in our hearts’.

Simpson seen the message and responded with a single clover.

Celtic have been crying out for a right back since Brendan Rodgers was in charge and Neil Lennon must be confident of bringing reinforcements in for that position if he’s turning the former Premier League winner away.
