CELTIC has to register any new players for the third round of qualifiers by midnight Thursday.
UEFA rules state the squad must be submitted at that time and the selection will be locked in until the next round of the competition. Celtic could still register a player as a wild card pick before Tuesday at 7pm but this looks unlikely even if they did sign somebody between now and then.
Celtic’s squad was already full before this round so any new players Neil Lennon wanted to register would have to take the place of another member of the squad.
In this case, the Irishman has chosen to include Hatem abd Elhamed in the Euro squad at the expense of Daniel Arzani who now drops out of Euro contention. Considering the player hasn’t touched a ball for Celtic this season, it means it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
Resident Euro expert Moravick67_ confirmed the squad selection.
Hatem Abd Elhamed has been added to our european squad for the games against Cluj, replacing Daniel Arzani.
