Daizen’s Social Media Post After 50th Celtic Goal

Celtic winger Daizen Maeda has reacted to his hat-trick against Raith Rovers this evening and his 50th goal for Celtic on social media.

Maeda, who started the game up top in place of Adam Idah, thrived in the role with a goal just six minutes into the game and another just before halftime to make it a brace. A third came in the 77th minute of the match.

The Japanese forward is really beginning to build momentum to become Celtic’s Player of the Year and Scottish Player of the Year with his performances over recent weeks.

He will sadly miss Wednesday night’s Champions League knockout playoff first leg against Bayern Munich at Celtic Park due to suspension. However, that did not affect Maeda’s thanks to Celtic supporters who were at the game today.

For Maeda, the next time supporters will see him in action will be in a week’s time in front of a sellout Celtic Park crowd against Dundee United, with the Hoops having the chance to go 16 points clear of Rangers, who don’t play until next Sunday against Hearts at Tynecastle.

He showed this evening that he can play up front effectively in what was a stellar display, leading the line. When needed, Rodgers can certainly rely on him to play in a role he is used to with the Japan national team.
