Daizen Maeda has displayed his commitment to Celtic by following Kyogo and signing a new long-term four-year deal with the Parkhead club.
Maeda was brought in by Ange Postecoglou and played a crucial role in the team’s style of play. He became a front-line defender, applying relentless pressure and ensuring that opposition defenders were constantly uneasy.
Maeda embodied the spirit of “we never stop.” Just ask The Rangers, who were eliminated from the Scottish Cup when all their players stopped, but Maeda seized the opportunity to set up Jota for the goal that secured the Hoops’ place in the final.

Until recently, there were genuine concerns that some of the Japanese players might consider leaving the club, especially now that Ange has departed for Spurs. However, with Kyogo committing and now Maeda, it is excellent news for both the club and the fans.
Let’s now focus on securing the signing of Reo Hatate, and we can complete a trio of Japanese contract extensions, making it a treble of good news for Celtic.
