CELTIC have been strongly linked with a move for Daizen Maeda in recent weeks – the Japanese player has been on song for his club Yokohoma Marinos and continues to excel. [SunSport]
Maeda and Marinos played FC Tokyo on Saturday morning; the striker scoring a hat-trick, making it 21 goals for the season. The game is still going as we write and it’s 6-0 to the home side.

Celtic have some serious firepower in Kyogo but if the player goes down with an injury, we have a different striker in Giakoumakis and Ajeti isn’t even on the radar.
Signing Maeda would be another statement of intent by the club. Someone who knows and has played under Ange in Japan. Maeda will already be well versed in what Ange wants him to do and would slot right into this Celtic team.
Scoring for fun in the J-League, the player could certainly have a similar impact to Kyogo if he did come in.
The J-League season ends in January, there could be movement in the window for the striker.
