Cup Final Goes Ahead: Emergency Briefing Latest

FIRST MINISTER Nicola Sturgeon has provided the country with the latest COVID update, again.

Taking to the podium on Friday lunchtime, Sturgeon announced that current advice will not change and no additional measures will be announced.

The current advice is to minimise contact with other households with a limit on gatherings to just three households at a time.

It is also recommended that Christmas parties be postponed and it has made a legal requirement to work from home if that was possible.

The case numbers are rising in the UK with the previous day’s case numbers rising by nearly 90,000. In Scotland, it is thought that of all active cases about 51% are the omicron variant.

This is great news for Celtic fans as the Cup Final on Sunday is set to go ahead with a full capacity crowd. Fans grew anxious when the government labeled the press conference as an ’emergency’.

Although, the idea of bringing the winter break forward to protect players from COVID does still seem a good idea.
