Cryptic Giakoumakis Celtic Post Sets Tongues Wagging

Giorgos Giakoumakis has sent a cryptic post onto his Instagram page that feeds into the narrative he’s displeased with the game time he’s getting.

The Celtic striker got on for the final 8 minutes of the game against Livingston on Wednesday night, however, with seven minutes added time, it turned into 15 minutes.

Rumours surrounding the Celtic player’s future have been rife since midway through the World Cup. Reasons for the Greek striker’s displeasure have been his lack of game time while playing second fiddle to Kyogo and the lack of improved terms on a Celtic contract. [RecordSport]

The striker has been very subtle, but he’s chosen to post a picture of him and Ange while he’s being subbed on and put in a sand timer emoji. If you’re to believe the rumours, it would suggest Giakoumakis is counting down to something – most likely the January window.

If you’re an optimist or don’t like the thought of Giakoumakis playing games on social media, you’ll obviously point to the vagueness of the sand timer and attribute it to something else.

The insta post alone doesn’t feed into anything but in the wider picture, it does seem random that the striker would post that particular image.

The reaction online to the post has already got fans talking and speculating. You can read the debate on Everything Celtic’s Twitter page.
