Could Neil Lennon throw a massive curveball at Ibrox this afternoon and field latest signing Mohamed Elyounoussi for a debut to remember?
The Norwegian hasn’t played this season but he has a full pre-season under his belt and told the Celtic boss he’s ready to go if he’s called upon.
“If the gaffer needs me I am ready. I have played in derbies before but I don’t think there is anything like this in Europe” the winger told CelticTV.
“I feel okay, I feel fit and I have been training hard. Obviously I haven’t played for a long time but I feel good.
“I would like to play, of course. I have come here to make an impact and help the team to win games.”
Celtic aught fans off guard on Friday night when they announced the player had come on a season long loan from Southampton. Mohamed only signed for the Saints back last summer and cost them £16m from Basel.
The player seemed well out of our reach and the club should be credited for getting Mohamed in the door.
If he does start at Ibrox, he would be an unknown quantity for the home side who may find it difficult to deal with him.
However, if he’s lacking match sharpness it could be setting the player up for failure. It’s a big decision.
