Over this pre-season, many fans seem to be enjoying the opportunities being given to up-and-coming youngsters.
The likes of Owen Moffat and Dane Murray are names that not too many would have known before this training camp, but now they could potentially be first-team players for the future.
One name that fans will be more familiar with and who is looking to build on the momentum he created last season is Adam Montgomery.
The 18-year old played a part in the second XI last Wednesday against Sheffield Wednesday and was the only player to take part in both halves of yesterday’s fixture against Charlton.

Many felt that Montgomery caught the eye with an impressive display. Whilst some might say it is just a friendly fixture against an English League One side, it could go a long way to helping him become a regular first team player this season.
Playing at both left-back and left-wing yesterday, some of his movement off the ball and confidence with it was extremely impressive to see from the youngster.
So, it is clear that he can also offer us some form of versatility down that left-hand side.
Montgomery made a late breakthrough at the end of last season, playing in the Hoops two final fixtures.
If he keeps up the recent displays we have seen, there is a big chance he could play more games than that in the 2021/22 season.
