Controversial UEFA Project Finally Coming to Celtic Park

The bhoys have many battles on the pitch to fight between now and February but the mind naturally wanders to the Europa League tie against Copenhagen after the pair were drawn against one another at UEFA headquarters.

It’s going to be a big game and a real chance for Celtic to get to the last 16 of the competition.

It has been the same last 32 hurdle which has caught them out in recent years.

There’s a big unfamiliar factor going into the double header that Celtic fans will need to get their head around.

The last 32 heralds the introduction of VAR into the competition as reported by SkySports.

This will mean Celtic Park will get its first taste of the new technology which has fans and pundits split.

We’ve all seen the narrow margins and tedious stops during games elsewhere but now we must endure something similar. If it ultimately gets the right decision then there can be no qualms but ambiguity in the system has led to calls for it to be scrapped until it can be refined.
