Confirmed: TV Channel Announces Exclusive Right to Celtic Game

It’s that time of the year when Celtic fans have to put their hands in their pockets to watch their team attempt to qualify for the Champions League.

The early qualifiers always go out to bid when it comes to broadcasting rights. There are no rules in place until the Champions League play-off round and over the past few years the qualifying games have jumped between Celtic TV and Premier Sports.

The first qualifying round has been confirmed to be shown on Premier Sports next week. Celtic fly out to Bosnia to take on Sarajevo with a 6:45pm kick off scheduled on July 9.

This means if Celtic fans want to watch the bhoys in action they will have to shell out the subscription fee for the month. Premier Sports is carried on Virgin and Sky and you can also get an online subscription to watch the game.

Over a season, Celtic fans subscription fees between BT Sport, Sky Sports, Premier Sports and other miscellaneous channels make it a costly exercise to watch the Hoops.

It’s unclear if the home leg will be televised at this point, Celtic have sometimes went for a blackout to up gate sales. However, with this being a season ticket game, they may announce something nearer the time.
