Confirmed Starting XI: Barkas is Back and Surprising Midfield Omission

Celtic take on Ross County at Celtic Park this afternoon in the Bet Fred League Cup.

In a game which allows the team to relax without the pressure of the league to contend with, the supporters are expecting a performance and more importantly and they did expect some fresh faces.

Neil Lennon has spoken about the need to stay calm and help the players get over this current poor form but if things aren’t going right, fringe players could take their chance in games like this.

The club is looking to defend their trophy for the fifth time in a row and it starts against the Dingwall club today. The cup might not be the priority but it certainly gives us space to find some form and let off some steam. Neil Lennon will know another defeat would be catastrophic so he’s going back to 3-5-2 today.

Barkas is back and Ajeti partners Eddy up front. Elhamed keeps his place and the surprising omission of Callum McGregor in the midfield has to be down to the manager resting the player.
