Confirmed: Rapid Bucharest Make Neil Lennon Decision

Neil Lennon’s tenure as manager of Rapid Bucharest has come to an abrupt end after just six games, following a series of disappointing results that failed to deliver a single win for the Romanian club.

Appointed in May, Lennon’s attempt to revive his managerial career in Romania after an 18-month hiatus since being let go by Omonia Nicosia proved fruitless. His team’s inability to secure a victory left them as the only squad in the Romanian top league without a win this season.

During his brief stint, Lennon brought in 12 new players, including Celtic goalkeeper Benji Siegrist, in an effort to get the team further up the table and push for the league title.

The final straw came after a 1-1 draw in a derby against Dinamo Bucharest, which marked the team’s sixth consecutive game without a win. This poor performance led the club’s executives to dismiss the former Celtic manager.

Neil Lennon will now likely be back on our screens as a pundit as he looks for a new dugout job.
