The German winger has said that it was an “easy” decision to leave Celtic for Como, bigging up the project that was presented to him by manager Cesc Fabregas.

Kühn joins the Italian outfit on a deal running until June 2029, with Celtic believed to have banked a fee in the region of £17 million – a significant return on the £3 million outlay that brought him in from Rapid Vienna just 18 months ago.

The 25-year-old departs Parkhead after a standout 2024/25 campaign in which he scored 21 goals and provided nine assists across all competitions. His contributions were pivotal during a season in which Celtic retained the league title and made strides in Europe under Brendan Rodgers.

Completing his move to the Italian side, the winger told Como’s website: “I’m really excited to be here. I had a long chat with the coach and I can’t wait to get out on the pitch, familiarise myself with the stadium and play in front of our fans. The decision was easy: the project is ambitious, and I want to be part of it, doing my best to help the team grow and achieve increasingly important goals. The city is beautiful — a real film set! I’m happy to start this new adventure in such a beautiful place”.

The deal also triggers financial benefits for Kühn’s former clubs, with Rapid Vienna and Ajax both receiving solidarity payments due to their role in his development.

Kühn leaves Celtic with the well-wishes of the support, having left a lasting mark in his short time in Glasgow, bringing some great moments to the Celtic support, especially in Europe.
