Celtic have discovered their eight opponents for the newly formatted UEFA Europa League league phase, with the draw taking place in Nyon this afternoon. Brendan Rodgers’ side were placed in Pot 2 and have now been handed a challenging but exciting route through the competition.

Here are the eight clubs Celtic will face in the league phase:

  • Roma (H)
  • Feyenoord (A)
  • Braga (H)
  • Red Star Belgrade (A)
  • Sturm Graz (H)
  • Mitdjylland (A)
  • Utrecht (H)
  • Bologna (A)

The new format sees 36 teams drawn into one giant table, with each side playing eight different opponents – four at home, four away – with no return fixtures. The top eight teams after all eight games will qualify automatically for the Round of 16. Clubs finishing from 9th to 24th will enter a two-legged play-off round, with the remaining teams eliminated from Europe.

Celtic fans will now be eagerly checking the calendar, with the fixtures set to be played as follows:

Matchday 1: 24 & 25 September 2025
Matchday 2: 2 October 2025
Matchday 3: 23 October 2025
Matchday 4: 6 November 2025
Matchday 5: 27 November 2025
Matchday 6: 11 December 2025
Matchday 7: 22 January 2026
Matchday 8: 29 January 2026

The full fixture list – including which of the eight games will be at Celtic Park – is expected to be confirmed by UEFA in the coming days.

With major European nights now locked into the calendar, Celtic will hope their summer recruitment drives them forward on the continental stage after the disappointment of missing out on the Champions League.
