Confirmed Celtic XI to Play St. Mirren; In form Attacker Benched

Brendan Rodgers has confirmed his Celtic team to face St. Mirren in Paisley this afternoon.

From last week’s dominant 3-1 win over Hibernian in the League Cup, there are two changes.

Goalkeeper and Defence

Kasper Schmeichel keeps his place, as does the back four, with Greg Taylor, Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Alistair Johnston all getting the nod.

Midfield

Callum McGregor starts at the base of midfield with Reo Hatate slightly ahead of him. Paulo Bernardo comes in to make his maiden start as a permanent bhoy, replacing Matt O’Riley in the team, whose move to Brighton is inevitable.

Attack

James Forrest starts again, as does Daizen Maeda, but replacing Nicolas Kuhn in the lineup is Adam Idah.

This means there will be a reshuffle of the frontline from last week, with Forrest likely to begin on the right, Maeda on the left, and Idah through the middle.

Kuhn missed training on Friday through injury, so is resultantly benched. The German has been on fire this season and could make an impact later on in the game.

Substitutes

As well as Kuhn, Viljami Sinisalo, Odin Holm, Kyogo Furuhashi, Luis Palma, Yang, Anthony Ralston, Stephen Welsh, and Francis Turley are all options off the bench this afternoon.

Kick-off is at midday, and the match is live on Sky Sports.
