McCowan, 26, has demonstrated his capabilities in the Scottish Premiership early this season, contributing two goals and an assist in three league matches, as well as one goal and five assists in five League Cup outings. His arrival not only boosts Celtic’s midfield options but also helps the club meet UEFA’s homegrown player requirements for European competitions.
This acquisition comes after Hibernian’s persistent attempts to sign McCowan fell through, with their highest bid of £800,000 being rejected.
