Celtic winger James Forrest has officially dropped out of the Scotland squad ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Portugal at Hampden.
The wide man wasn’t even on the bench for the 2-1 loss to Croatia on Saturday after reports suggested he missed the final training session before the clash in Zagreb.

Forrest’s latest issue marks the second time he has withdrawn from a Scotland squad this season.
The 33-year-old recovered quickly for Celtic last time around, and that will once more be the club’s priority with a gruelling run of seven games in 21 days on the horizon.
Although Nicolas Kuhn has been in fine form this season, Forrest’s experience and attacking prowess are big pluses for Brendan Rodgers.
The attacker was brought in from the cold towards the end of last season and made a considerable impact as the Bhoys went on to clinch a domestic double.
He has played seven times at the beginning of this campaign, garnering three assists along the way.
Forrest might not be the quickest or most agile of Celtic’s wingers, but he remains a reliable option with the proven quality to play for the Hoops.
If fit, he will undoubtedly have a part to play over the next few weeks as the Bhoys look to make progress across the Scottish Premiership, League Cup, and Champions League.
