CONFIRMED: Celtic Team V Anderlecht

We all know Celtic won’t be playing in the Champions League in 2018, tonight gives the hoops the opportunity to ensure they will be playing some European football.

Three Games against PSG and Bayern Munich will be erased from Celt’s memory. Some heart can be taken from the manner in which Celtic lost to Bayern the last time out and it’s that kind of performance that Celtic will be looking for tonight against Anderlecht. One of Celtic’s best performances away from Celtic Park in Europe came at the expense of Anderlecht in the hoops second group game.

The 3-0 scoreline really did flatter the performance. Worryingly for Anderlecht, they will come up against a much tougher Celtic tonight with a full batch of defenders to choose from and an on fire strike trio. They will also have to contend with a noise they won’t of experienced in Paris or Munich.

It looked like Brendan Rodgers had rested players for tonight’s game, luckily for him the players that got brought in put on a show and humiliated Motherwell by putting 5 goals past them.

The match will also be a landmark occasion for Scott Brown, who is set to overtake Kenny Dalglish’s Scottish record of 68 European Cup appearances.

The key question on everyone’s minds this evening is who was Rodgers going to go with up front. The answer is big Moussa for the big games.
