Brendan Rodgers has had better weeks since he took over the reigns at Celtic. Transfer wise, Rodgers is coming up against more problems than solutions. Football wise, Celtic’s loss at the weekend to Hearts has not been the ideal preparation for a showdown in Athens tonight. Last weeks performance against the Greek champions wasn’t bad, but the result could back to haunt the Celts this evening.
Kick-off this evening is at 7pm and the Celtic boss has admitted AEK hold a slight advantage with last weeks 1-1 draw at Celtic Park. This means Celtic have to score tonight.
You feel Celtic will win or lose this tie tonight based on the performance of their defence. Jack Hendry and Jozo will need to prove their worth tonight if Celtic are to make it into the playoff round.
Most Celtic fans were probably expecting Edouard to lead the line tonight but it’s Leigh Griffiths who will look to fire in the goals. Moussa Dembele is on the bench with Edouard not in contention after picking up a knock yesterday in training.
