Confirmed Celtic Team To Face Kilmarnock In Pouring Rain

The rain is teaming down across Scotland but it doesn’t look like any disruption will be caused to Celtic’s welcoming of Kilmarnock to Parkhead this afternoon. Revenge is a dish served cold, and today’s conditions are perfect for the Hoops to conjure up just that to a Killie side that knocked them out of the league cup a few months ago.

Brendan Rodgers has named his starting lineup ahead of the match and unsurprisingly between the sticks, Joe Hart begins. Alistair Johnston has got the nod at right-back with Greg Taylor starting on the opposite side of defence to him.

Liam Scales carries on at centre-back and CCV RETURNS to the starting xi!

In midfield, Callum McGregor captains the champions. Matt O’Riley is undroppable at the minute and starts yet again along with Japan internationalist Reo Hatate. The 25-year-old wasn’t overly impressive midweek, but today’s game provides him with the ideal opportunity to get going again.

Up top, Kyogo plays through the middle. Daizen Maeda starts out wide and after another impressive cameo midweek where he was so unfortunate not to score an iconic Celtic European goal, Luis Palma gets the nod for the first time domestically.

On the bench, there are places for the likes of Odin Thiago Holm, Anthony Ralston, Oh, Yang, and James Forrest. Rodgers is not short of reinforcements going into the match, which is due to kick off at 3 p.m.
